Catholic Life
The Catholic Life of our school is not confined to RE lessons: it is joyfully and consistently lived out by pupils, staff and leaders. Our mission is deeply rooted in the person of Jesus Christ and is visible in every relationship, policy and decision. Pupils have a strong sense of belonging to a loving, inclusive Catholic community, and they respond to the call to serve others and care for creation. Leaders and local academy committee members provide outstanding role models, ensuring that the Catholic mission permeates every aspect of school life. The Gospel virtues are clearly evident and celebrated, inspiring all to serve, forgive and show compassion.

Pupils are proud to belong to Holy Family and are actively engaged in shaping the Catholic Life of the school through service. They show an understanding of vocation and discipleship, demonstrating that faith in action is central to who they are.
Living Catholic Social Teaching at Holy Family
At Holy Family, Catholic Social Teaching forms the foundation of how we understand our relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation. These principles are not simply taught as abstract concepts but are lived out daily through the life and mission of our school community.
Catholic Social Teaching permeates every aspect of school life, guiding how we treat one another, how we engage with the wider world, and how we respond to injustice and need. Children learn that every person is made in the image and likeness of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth. They understand that we are all part of one human family, called to work together for the common good and to pay particular attention to those who are poor, vulnerable, or marginalised.
Our pupils are taught that faith must be lived through action. They engage regularly in charitable fundraising for local, national, and international causes, developing awareness of injustice and a genuine desire to make a difference. Through our ‘Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move’ program, various leadership roles, and opportunities to plan and lead events such as liturgies and fundraising activities, children learn that they have both rights and responsibilities as members of God's family. They understand their role as stewards of God's creation and develop a commitment to caring for our common home and protecting the environment for future generations.
Catholic Social Teaching is woven throughout our curriculum, collective worship, and daily interactions, shaping our inclusive ethos and our commitment to justice, peace, and solidarity. Children articulate their faith with increasing confidence and enthusiasm as they progress, understanding how Catholic teaching informs their daily choices and relationships. Our school makes an outstanding contribution to the wider Catholic community, with pupils demonstrating Gospel values through service to others and showing genuine concern for building a more just and compassionate world. Through living these principles, our children become active disciples who are inspired to know Christ more clearly, love Him more dearly, and follow Him more nearly as they work to make the world a better place for all God's children.
