Our Head's Welcome
Welcome to
Holy
Family
School website. I trust you will find it informative, whether you are a current or prospective parent, a pupil, a parent whose child is approaching nursery/school age … or someone who is just inquisitive and wants to find out what we’re up to!
Holy Family School is a successful Catholic primary school; it is very popular and is continuously over subscribed. Our School Admissions Policy can be accessed here.
Our Statement of Aims, Values and Beliefs, which underpins all that we do, explains that our school should be “a happy and caring place, where children want to come and where they will feel secure.” We want each and every one of our children to be the best that they can be and, in order for that to be possible, they first must feel confident in the adults who teach them; that they will be cared for in a spirit of Christian kindness and fairness; that they will never be humiliated; that they will be encouraged and expected to give of their best effort; that they will be praised when they do well and supported when they struggle or need help; that they will feel valued and respected simply because they exist as God’s children; and that staff will ensure that they always approach them in a professional manner, dedicated to their success, safety and pride in their achievements.
We believe that we, as teachers, can only be successful in this venture of educating young children if their parents are active partners in the process. We will endeavour to give as much useful information as we can regarding individual children’s progress, and rely on the honest support of their parents in ensuring that we are kept informed of major events or worries, or successes, in the lives of their children; we expect parents to support their children’s learning by listening to them read each day at home; ensuring time, quiet and space is given for homework to be completed; supporting the school in any issues regarding behaviour; and being prepared to attend any necessary parent/teacher meeting to discuss issues about their child’s progress. We believe that it takes the combined effort of all of us to give our children the best chance to receive a good education. They only get one chance, and we have to make it work for them!
God Bless.
